Itinerary

Day 01: Cusco – Soraypampa

We start the day picking you up from your hotel from 04:30 am and we will board our mobility passing through the towns of Izcuchaca – Limatambo arriving at Mollepata (2900m.s.n.m) where we will be approx. at 07:30 am arriving at the locality we will be charged s/ 20. 00 nuevos soles for the entrance, in this place we will have breakfast and then we will take a transport that will take us to Challacancha for 1 hour, from this point we will begin our walk in approximately 3 hrs. arriving to Soraypampa we will have lunch, then we will go to the beautiful Humantay lagoon and to culminate the day we will camp in this place.

Day 02: Soraypampa – Salkantay – Colpapampa

This day we will wake up at 05:00 am and we will have a nutritious breakfast and then continue our hike, we will start from the point of Soraypampa to the highest point which is the Abra Salkantay where we can appreciate the imposing snow-capped mountains Salkantay, Humantay, Tucarhuay and Pumasillo (4650m.a.s.l.).

Then we will descend to Huayracmachay where we will have lunch and continue our hike to Colpapampa (2900m.a.s.l.) to camp.

Day 03: Colpapampa – Sahuayaco Beach – Hydroelectric Plant – Aguas Calientes

We will start our day having breakfast at 06:00 am, then we will walk for 05:30 hrs through the jungle with ascents and descents flat, in this journey we will appreciate coffee plantations, orchids, begoneas, bromeliads and many natural plants used for natural medicine, arriving at our lunch point on the beach Sahuayaco.

After enjoying our delicious lunch we will board our transportation to move to Hidroeléctrica, from this point we will walk for 2:30 hours towards Aguas Calientes to settle in our hotel.

Day 04: Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

We will start the most important day of our trip with a delicious breakfast, then we will go to the Aguas Calientes bus station and ascend to the Sanctuary of Machupicchu (travel time 20 minutes). Upon arrival, at the entrance of the sanctuary our guide will be waiting for us to begin with the guided tour of approx. 2 hours, where we will visit the Inca workshops, temple of the moon, temple of the sun, temple of the condor, etc..

After the tour we will have free time to visit the Inca citadel on our own. Then we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes, if you wish you can go to the hot springs (optional). Finally we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo station, where our transportation will be waiting for us to return to the city of Cusco.

How can I prevent altitude sickness?
